In this tutorial I explain how to create realistic chrome effects using just Adobe Photoshop.
Those chrome effects are great to create cool looking interfaces,or even to add realistic metal pieces to your images.

Just click the preview image to take a look at the tutorial. It's a big and detailed image, so be patient :)

It is a step by step tutorial, which also explains advanced layer styles concepts. So it can be useful to both novice and expert Photoshop users.

You can also download my free 28 new Photoshop chrome styles from this link.

:bulletblue: After receiving a lot of comments and requests of more detailed instructions, i have finally managed to publish an extended version of the Photoshop metal chrome styles tutorial at my website. So you shouldn't have any problem creating realistic chrome effects from now on! :bulletblue:

If you have any comment or question, just let me know! And if you like it, :+fav:'s are much appreciated.

Have fun! :)

Hey, thanks! :thanks:
Yes, I also use Bryce and even Maya to render 3D chrome effects, and use them later in 2D compositions. 3D reflection maps create cool effects in a quick and natural way.
This is just a handy alternative to 3D renders when you do not have a 3D program available. It may be not so realistic as a 3D render, but for small compositions it can be even a quicker technique. :)
